KERKES, Milan (Mike)

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ Dec. 15, 1939 Rites Held Sunday for Mike Kerkes Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Wickenburg chapel for Mike Kerkes, Wickenburg Hospital early Saturday morning. Mr. Kerkes had been in failing health for a number of months. Born in Bosnia, Yugoslavia in 1884, he came to Arizona nearly 30 years and had resided in Wickenburg the past 29 years, where until recently he was engaged in the mining business. His wife passed away here in 1927 and a daughter, Stella, passed away a few years later. Mr. Kerkes leaves many friends who mourn his passing. He was well known in Arizona mining circles, entering into the mining business more than a quarter of a century ago. He is survived by six children: Tommy, Mitchell, Mary, Sarah, and Annie of Wickenburg and a son. Nick Kerkes, of Glendale. (Obit: Courtesy of Sharon)
