B7 This Week in Wickenburg History - 60 years ago Mrs. Lavina Rubash summoned after illness of two days (Friday, Nov. 8, 1946) Seriously ill only two days, Mrs. Lavina Rubash, 49, well-known Wickenburg resident, passed away Tuesday night, Nov 5, at St. Monica’s hospital in Phoenix. Suffering a stroke Sunday morning, Mrs. Rubash was rushed to the Phoenix hospital where she died without regaining consciousness. A resident of Wickenburg for the past 11 years, Mrs. Rubash with her family came here from Dow, Okla. She was the mother of 12 children – nine of whom are living. Immediate survivors are her husband A. A. Rubash; daughters Mrs. Ruby Rubash, Mrs. James Carter, Mrs. Robert Onstott and Doria Jean; sons Arthur, Grover, Anthon, Danny and Jimmy; step-daughter Mrs. Ethel Monroe; brother Dave Polen of Phoenix; sister Mrs. Juli Carroll of Paris, Ark.; and nine-grandchildren.
