ROBERTS, Mary Elizabeth (Betty)

Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, December 30, 2007 Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Roberts, age 99, passed away on Dec. 26, 2007. Betty, the daughter of Lester and Rose Baker, was born at her parents’ farm in 1908 near Golconda, Ill. She was married to James Tabor, formerly of Chicago, Ill., and Prescott, Ariz., for 35 years. After Mr. Tabor’s death in 1968, she married Lowell Roberts, formerly of Normal, Ill., and Prescott, Ariz., who died in 1997. Betty, who always said there are no step-people in her family, leaves behind daughter Rebecca Kennedy; three grandchildren, Stacy Roberts, Erica Vaitkus and Justin Roberts; as well as her daughter-in-law, Deborah Roberts; son-in-law Edward Kennedy; two great-grandchildren; and her nephew, John Jennings of Urbana, Ill. Betty’s son, Dennis Roberts, passed away in October 2007. Graveside services at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at the Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott, Ariz. Heritage Funeral Chapel assisted with the arrangements. (Information provided by survivors.)
