L. K. Chris Christopher passed away on Jan. 24, 2005 at his home. Chris was born Oct. 9, 1921, in Cooter, Mo. to Quincey and Tennessee Christopher.
Chris married the love of his life Donna (Dovie) Park in St. Charles, Mo. in 1942.
Chris served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the Pacific Campaign (Philippines).
Upon leaving the military in 1948, Chris and Dovie arrived in Phoenix where he worked numerous jobs until starting a 24-year career in truck driving. He retired from Bekins Van Lines after 15-1/2 years.
Chris always dreamed of buying a new home, and in 1952 he accomplished it. They raised three sons there, Thomas King, Richard Allen, and David Quincey. After he retired, he bought and operated a neighborhood bar in Phoenix for 10 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and repairing radios and TVs in his spare time.
Chris is preceded in death by his Dovie and survived by his sons, Tom of Phoenix, Richard (Cindy) of Idaho, and David (Sandra) of Nogales; grandchildren Annette (Andrew) of Arizona, Michael of Arizona, Tom of Idaho, Stacey of Idaho, and Kenneth (Jodi); great-grandchildren Christopher, Hildreth, David, Sarah, Sophia, Iana, and Kenny.
