Her last months were with her family in Vacaville, Calif. This ever-cheerful woman lived in the little stone house opposite the AmericInn. She married Joseph Allen, a San Francisco art dealer. They had two children, Hilary and Robert. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. During World War II, a uranium-mining job brought the Allens to Arizona and eventual retirement to Wickenburg. Dorothy loved the desert and the many kind friends she had in Wickenburg over the years.
