The White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona 01/28/2005 Dernie Bead of Canyon Day died Jan. 20, 2005 in Tucson. He was born March 17, 1935 in Tucson, and was a member of the Canyon Day Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and also loved attending rodeos and basketball games. Dernie is survived by his sister Drucilla Janay; daughters Marguerita Griggs, Ellen Danford, Felippa Tso, Charlene Beatty, Alberta Altaha and Annette Dahkoshay; and his sons Richard Beard and Robert Kinney, Jr. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A two-night wake started Thursday, Jan. 27 at his residence in Canyon Day and funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29 at the Canyon Day Assembly of God Church in Canyon Day. Interment was at Canyon Day Cemetery. Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Whiteriver handled the arrangements.
