Rites Friday for James E. Murphy
Funeral services for James E. Murphy, Wickenburg resident who died in Community Hospital Sunday afternoon, were scheduled to be held in St. Joseph’s Church in Minneapolis, Minn., Friday morning of this week. The widow, Mrs. Mary Murphy, and son, Tom Murphy, flew to Minneapolis Monday morning.
Mr. Murphy, who was 71 years old, was born in Minneapolis. He retired five years ago as a linotype operator at the Minneapolis Star after 50 years of service. At that time he and Mrs. Murphy moved to Wickenburg and resided at 315 North Jackson Street.
Surviving, in addition to the widow and Wickenburg son, are these other sons and daughters: Joseph and Vernon of Minneapolis; Emmett of St. Paul; Mrs. Patricia Boguta, Mrs. Genevieve Scholl, Mrs. Cecelia Flaherty and Mrs. Marian Lachner, all of Minneapolis. Also surviving are a sister, 33 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
