PERATT, Earl Thomas (Tom)


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, April 20, 2007 Earl T. (Tom) Peratt was born on April 5, 1921, in Wilsonville, Ill., to Garrett Hobart Peratt and Correnia Fay (Sullivan) Peratt. He was called home to be with his Lord on April 16, 2007. Tom leaves behind his beloved and devoted wife of over 50 years, Betty; brothers, John, George (Freeman), Jim and Burl; sisters, Alma and Nell; as well as sons, Tom (Norma) and Al (Teresa); and daughters, Beverly Perkinson and Dianne (Don) Flood. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. His parents; two brothers; and two sons preceded him in death. During World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for 21 years as an engineman aboard submarines earning the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After retiring from the Navy he worked for Montgomery Wards as a warehouseman retiring after 20 years and then worked for 12 years as a driver for Mountain View Auto Parts. He never really completely retired, working until last fall assisting the maintenance staff at First Baptist Church after he and his wife moved to Prescott. A memorial service for Tom will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2007, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, 148 S. Marina St., Prescott, with Pastors Al Peratt, and Don, Paul and Josh Flood officiating. Burial will be 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice Family Care, 100 E. Sheldon St., Prescott, Arizona, in Tom's name. Information provided by survivors.
