PINON, Ariz. — Funeral services for Betty Phillip, 79, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 9 at the Hardrock Navajo Gospel Mission. Pastor Albert Nez will officiate. Interment will be at the Hardrock Community Cemetery. Phillip died Friday, May 5, in Chinle, Ariz. She was born June 2, 1926, in Pinon, Ariz. Phillip was a life-long resident of Pinon, Ariz. She was a rug weaver and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Phillip is survived by her son, Kee Joe Phillip, and daughter, Grace P. Shonie. Phillip was preceded in death by her husband, Kee Tso Phillip; sisters, Lou Y. Begay, June Yonnie, Nagli Bima Ethel Phillips, Asan Gene Cowboy and Hazel Cap; brothers, Yazzie L. Yazzie and Jimmy Chase. The family will receive relatives and friends at the family residence eight miles south of Pinon. Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
