COOKE, Raymond


KEAMS CANYON, Ariz. — Services for Raymond Cooke, 52, will be 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Keams Canyon. Burial will follow at Jeditto Cemetery. Cooke died Aug. 1 in Albuquerque. He was born March 21, 1954 in Keams Canyon into the Red Running into the Water People Clan for the Deer Spring People. Cooke was employed with the Navajo Tribe for 20 years, as a police officer for the Chinle Police Department, purchasing agents and purchasing director for the Navajo Nation Purchasing Department. Survivors include his sons, Deon Cooke, Cody Cooke and Raynor Cooke; daughter, Rayann Castillo and Ahannabah Cooke; mother, Hazel Cook; brothers, Carl Cooke and Antonio Cooke; sisters, Tina Cooke of Nageezi, Beverly Cooke of Phoenix, Ella Jean Toledo, Geneva Nelson and Lillie Footracer all of Smoke Signal, Roseanna Cooke of Crystal, Phyllis Green and Jacqueline Cooke both of Aztec; and eight grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Patrick Cooke, Virgil Nelson Jr., Jody Nelson, Terrence Nelson, Troy Cooke, Kee John Jimmie, Wayne Nez and Eric Cooke. Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements
