Shauna Smith Handley, age 49, passed away on Sept. 30, 2009, in Prescott, Ariz. She was born on July 12, 1960, in Brawley, Calif., to James and Georgia Smith.
Shauna attended Brawley Union High School before starting her career as a loving mother and grandmother. She was consumed with her love of family and always enjoyed her "sister trips" and never missed a family gathering. Shauna lived her life with great courage, love and grace. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Dawn Ann (Mike) Shivers and Shaun (Kalynn) Handley; grandchildren Taylor, Jaycie and Kohen Shivers, and Kalan, Graycie and Preslie Handley; siblings Donna Love, Lana (Jim) Looper, Jim (Yvonne) Smith and Jerry Smith; and nieces and nephews Staci Monreal, Garry Cook, Jimmy Looper, Tammy Kelly, Kasey Looper, Russell Smith, Brian Smith, Heather Smith, Aaron Smith, Jessie Smith and Georgia Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at the Yavapai County Sheriff's Posse House. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Shauna's name.
