Longtime Flagstaff resident Mary McKain, 60, died Wednesday morning at Olivia White Hospice Home.
She was born in Tennessee in 1949 and moved to Arizona in 1969. Mrs. McKain was well-known and appreciated by many locals for her devoted laundry services at White Flag Laundry on South Beaver Street.
She is survived by her children, Derrick McKain and Thelma McKain, both of Flagstaff, and Angie Williams, who is serving in the U.S. Air Force and is stationed in London. Mrs. McKain is also survived by four grandchildren and her beloved dog of 14 years, Buttons Marie McKain.
Mrs. McKain fought a valiant battle with ovarian cancer for eight years, while she continued to work at White Flag Laundry.
There will be a public memorial service Friday at 5 p.m. at Lozano's Flagstaff Mortuary, 2545 N. Fourth St. Send condolences to the mortuary at www.lozanos-flagstaffmortuary.com.
