William "Bill" Elsworth Lemons, 82, died on Aug. 16, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Nov. 13, 1926, in Newport, Ark.
Mr. Lemons was a local businessman for many years, but his passion was preaching the gospel and sharing the Lord with everyone he met. He preached at the Sunshine Rescue Mission on a regular basis. He was a veteran of World War II, loved to fish, hunt, play the guitar and sing. More than anything, he was a man of God who dearly loved his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Mr. Lemons is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rose Jane Lemons; his daughters, Rita Guthrie (Allen), Shirley Calahan (Paul), Mary McKay (Roland), Deborah Schill, Diann Chidester, Sandra Johnson (Ken), Wilma Lujan (Merv), Shauna Carillo (Adolpho) and Brianna Redding (David); two brothers; one sister; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Saturday at noon at Flagstaff First Assembly Church, 3500 N. Fourth St.
