Major Robert Stevenson Remiro, an Arizona resident, 70, died in an airplane crash near Flagstaff on Aug. 4, 2009. He was born March 17, 1939, in Santa Cruz, Calif. Major Remiro served in the U.S. Army Special Forces, as a Green Beret and as a paratrooper. He served in Vietnam and was a recipient of the Silver Star and the Purple Heart.
Mr. Remiro is survived by his wife, Annie Remiro; his children, Robert T. Remiro Jr., Steven T. Remiro, Edward T. Remiro, Tammie T. Remiro, Teresa Keeny and Sheila Hubbard; his brothers, Sam McFall of Portland, Ore., and James McFall of Tulsa, Okla.; and sisters Betty McFall-Perkins of Dallas, Texas, and Rose Williams of Lake Havasu. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Remiro and Jessie Dunmire of Dallas, and by sisters Bette Torres of Roseburg, Ore., and Sandria Carillo of Barstow, Calif.
A services of remembrance will be today at Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel, 914 E. Route 66, in Flagstaff, with full military honors. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the memorial account for Major Robert S. Remiro at Wells Fargo Bank.
