Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, January 4, 2008 Ida Garcia Wurtz, died Jan. 1, 2008, at Prescott Samaritan Care Center. She was born July 29, 1921, in Socorro, N.M., the daughter of David and Paulita (Chavez) Garcia. Ida married the love of her life, John Wurtz, 52 years ago on Dec. 31. They moved to Prescott in 1984 and then to Chino Valley in 2005. Ida is survived by John; her daughters, RoseMarie Maschhaupt of Chino Valley and Deborah (Jerry) Stearly of Ohio; sons Ernest (Jane) Narvaez of Mission Viejo, Calif., and John of Prescott; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Rosary service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, 303 South Cortez, Prescott, Ariz. Celebration of Life Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, Highway 89 in Chino Valley with final commendation at the Prescott National Cemetery. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home is assisting the family. Information provided by survivors.
