MAENNCHE, John Fred, Jr.


The White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona 9/25/2009 John F. Maennche Jr., 68, died unexpectedly Sept. 19, 2009, at his home in Snowflake. He was born Oct. 6, 1940, in Snowflake to John Fred and Maude Marie (DeWitt) Maennche. John graduated from Holbrook High School, class of 1958. Following his graduation, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps, advancing to the rank of master sergeant. He was honorably discharged after 23 years of service. John retired to Snowflake where he enjoyed the life of ranching, hunting and fishing with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Marie and Cora Helen. He is survived by a granddaughter, Melanie Marie; three brothers, Jerry, Larry and Alan; sister Staci; as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Pioneer Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment followed services in the Woodruff Cemetery with full military honors.
