The man named Gonzales who was shot a week ago in a quarrel between itinerant Mexicans near the railroad track west of town died at Phoenix last Thursday. 

In the investigation that followed, the woman posing as his wife refused to tell who did the shooting. Sheriff Sullivan is combing the country for the murderer, who is known to have been hiding near town for several days after the shooting.
