PENNEY, Herbert Gilbert Samuel (Rev.)

West Valley View, November 3, 2004 Herbert Gilbert Samuel Penney, 78, of Tolleson died Oct. 29, 2004. Mr. Penney was born on May 22, 1926, in Blow-Me-Down, Newfoundland, Canada. An ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, the Rev. Penney served his country during the Korean War and received several honors, including a Silver Star and a Purple Heart. He later worked as an operations engineer, and retired from Local 428 after nearly 30 years. The Rev. Penney is survived by his wife of 55 years, Irene; one daughter, Jacqueline Irene Lane; two sons, Stephen and Matthew Penney; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A service was held Nov. 3 at Tolleson Assembly of God Church. Interment was at Resthaven Park Cemetery. Lundberg Mortuary White Rose Chapel in Glendale made the arrangements
