West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona December 3, 2004 Robert B. Abbott of Litchfield Park died Nov. 24, 2004, after a brief illness. Mr. Abbott was born in 1917 in Bridgeport, Conn., and graduated from Darien High School in Connecticut. A 20-year veteran of the Navy, he retired with the rank of chief warrant officer. After teaching in Connecticut for 15 years, Mr. Abbott retired and moved to Litchfield Park. He later taught at Agua Fria High School in Avondale for 10 years. He was active in Scouting, Rotary and the Shriners, and was a deacon at the Church at Litchfield Park. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 18 at the Church at Litchfield Park, XXX N. Old Litchfield Road in Litchfield Park. Memorials may be sent in Mr. Abbott’s name to the Grand Canyon Council, Boy Scouts of America, 2969 N. Greenfield Road, Phoenix, AZ 85016-7715; the American Cancer Society, Southwest Division, 12211 W. Bell Road, Surprise, AZ 85374; or a charity of the donor’s choice.
