PADILLA, Rose Marie

West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona December 7, 2004 Rose Marie Padilla, 76, of Wintersburg died Nov. 30, 2004. Mrs. Padilla was born July 20, 1928, in Hamtramck. Mich., and was raised on her family’s Colorado farm. She married John Padilla in 1948, and the couple came to Arizona in 1969. Three years later, they bought land in Wintersburg, where Mrs. Padilla later worked for the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station until her 1996 retirement. She was a member of the International Society of Poets, and had several short stories and poems published. Mrs. Padilla was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1993. She is survived by six daughters, Donna Palmer, Kay Padilla, Sally Lee, Diane Bell, Linda Jeffcoat and Gloria Statom; and five sons, Jim and Steve Padilla, Larry Moran, Sky Hayes and Russ Converse. A private service was held.
