PALENSAR, SR., Emil John

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona 11/10/2009 Emil John Palensar Sr., 79, died in Lakeside Nov. 4, 2009. He was a resident of St. Johns. Emil was born in Newark, N.J., Sept. 14, 1930, the son of Fredrick and Mary Palensar. Emil served his country in the U.S. Navy and the Merchant Marines. He retired from Salt River Project after 11 years of employment. He had a great love for his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Emil is survived by his wife Patricia of St. Johns; son Emil J. (Kathy) Palensar Jr. of Lakeside; daughter Amy L. Starkel of St. Johns; stepchildren Dana (Pat) Mead, Denise (Brian) DelGrand, Ed Noel and Eric Noel; brothers Eugene Palensar and Fredrick Palensar; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister June Moroz and brother Edward Palensar. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 7, at Burnham Mortuary of St. Johns. A viewing was held prior to the funeral service. Interment was at the St. Johns Westside Cemetery following the service. Burnham Mortuary of St. Johns handled the arrangements.
