WINGFIELD, Robert Henry Cox


The Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Tuesday, November 03, 2009 Robert Henry Cox Wingfield, age 65, passed away on October 27th. Robert (Bob) was the son of Gertrude Cox Wingfield and Howard Wingfield. He was a fifth generation member of the Wingfield family who pioneered here in the late 1800's. He had resided in Tucson, AZ for many years and until his retirement, was a detective with the Tucson Police Department. Bob received many commendations during his years of service. He is survived by his wife Yvette, daughter Paula, and stepdaughters Sarah, Andrea, and Celeste, stepson Lonnie, and many grandchildren. He was the brother of Camp Verde residents Nancy Kilby, Babs Monroe, and Mary Jane Dickinson. He also leaves brother-in-laws Jim Kilby and Wallace Dickinson, and many nieces and nephews who live in this area, as well as one nephew in Alaska. Bob, who had suffered serious health problems for several years, was a lesson in courage and strength of spirit for all who knew him.
