Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Mary Ellen Rhode (May 26, 1919 - July 17, 2008) Mary Rhode died at her home in Flagstaff on Wednesday, July 16, 2008. She was born in Iowa on May 26, 1919 to John and Mary Stubbs. She married Clyde Rhode in 1946 and they enjoyed nearly 60 years together before his death in 2004. Mary loved life, loved people, and lived her life with a deep faith in God. She felt she learned something from everyone she met. In addition to raising her three children, she worked as a teacher for many years. When she and Clyde retired, they settled in Flagstaff where they enjoyed the natural beauty of the area. She is survived by her three loving children: Marcia, Scott (Daneen), and Jeff (Karen), ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21st at Flagstaff Federated Community Church, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, P.O.
