Philadelphia Daily News, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania April 19, 1990 Deceased Name: JOAN C. MCCARTHY Joan C. McCarthy, a retired secretary for ARA in Philadelphia, died Saturday. She was 58 and lived in Camp Verde, Ariz. The former Joan Jenkins, McCarthy had been a secretary at ARA from 1964 to 1972, and previously had been a secretary in the main office of Acme Markets. A former resident of Upper Darby, she moved to Arizona 11 years ago. McCarthy was a 1951 graduate of Upper Darby High School and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. She was discharged with the rank of airman first class. She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Camp Verde. Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Frederick J. McCarthy; her father, James Jenkins Jr.; and her mother, Ceola Denny. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Arlington Cemetery, Lansdowne Avenue and School Lane, Drexel Hill.
