Max L. Rice, 67, Camp Verde, Ariz., formerly of DeKalb Junction, died Saturday in Arbor Nursing Home, Camp Verde.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Denesha Funeral Home, with the Rev. Floyd Powell officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Richville.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the DeKalb Junction United Methodist Church, Camp Verde United Methodist Church or the Camp Verde Clinic Association.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie; two sons, Robert, Kelso, Wash., and Richard, Flagstaff, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. Kelly (Mary) Hollamon, Camp Verde. Ariz.; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a sister, Lorana Livingston, Northville, and several nephews and nieces.
Born in DeKalb Junction on April 26, 1925, a son of Raymond and Marion Law Rice, he married Marjorie Jennings on Feb. 4, 1946, at the Methodist parsonage, Ogdensburg, with the Rev. George Dando officiating.
Mr. Rice served with the Air Force. He was employed with Yellow Front Stores, Camp Verde, as an assistant manager.
He had been a resident of Arizona since 1977.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Kiwanis Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
