Julie Elaine Pope, 80, of Goodyear died Nov. 16, 2009, at her home.

Mrs. Pope was born April 6, 1929, in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y., to Albert and Justina Otivich. 

She had a dog-sitting business for the last six years. She was a member of the Pet Companions Club in PebbleCreek. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Haworth, N.J., and St. James Catholic Church in Solana Beach, Calif., for many years before moving to Arizona.

Mrs. Pope is survived by her husband, Peter; three sons, Jeffrey of Redondo Beach, Calif., Darrell of Baltimore, and Kristian Pope of Phoenix; one sister, Josephine Dinan of New Hampshire; and five grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Nov. 25 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 13720 W. Thomas Road, Avondale.
