JERRY WALKER IS REPORTED KILLED
Word was received here this week that Jerry Walker was reported killed in action January 9. He is the son of Mr and Mrs A. G. Walker of Florence. Jerry was born and raised in Wickenburg and attended the elementary school here.
He is the first local boy to be killed in action at the front. He would have been 20 years old in March. Besides his parents he leaves one brother and five sisters.

RITES AT GLENDALE FOR JERRY WALKER KILLED IN JAP WAR
Funeral services for Staff Sgt. Jerry M. Walker, former Wickenburg youth killed in action in the Southwest Pacific area in January, 1943, were held Thursday at 3 p.m. from the First Christian church in Glendale followed by interment in Glendale Memorial Park.
A brother of Mrs Roy George and Ira Walker of Wickenburg, Jerry was born here in 1923 and lived here until he was 9 years old. He attended high school here during his junior year and spent is summer vacations here with his sister and brother. He also attended schools in Florence and Ray, Ariz. His parents, Mr and Mrs A. G. Walker, now live in Phx.
The body was returned to the U. S. aboard the Cardinal O'Connell. He enlisted in the Army Air Forces in December 1941 and was a waist gunner on a B-17.
Additional survivors are four sisters; Mrs C. C. Gray, Hillside; Mrs A. J. Vensel, Prescott; Mrs Carl Lawson, Claypool, and Mrs Albert Nord, Salome.
