The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, January 1, 2003 Mildred Stretch Pettit, age 87, died on December 29, 2002 at Scottsdale Village Square in Scottsdale, Az. Mrs. Pettit has resided in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Az. during the past twenty years. She is survived by son, James Pettit of Phoenix, Az.; daughter, Anita Mahoney of Beaufort, S.C.; brother, Roy Stretch of Niceville, Fla.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Following cremation, interment will be in the Woodstown Friends' Burial Ground at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 919 N. Michigan Avenue, Suite 1100, Chicago, Ill., 60611. Newcomer Family Mortuary of Scottsdale assisted the family.
