Elizabeth B. Clawson, 95, died Sept. 13, 1994 in Phoenix, Arizona at the Eastern Star Retirement Home.
She was a former resident of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and Johnson, Ohio, where she taught in the high schools. She helped plan and start Phoenix Christian High School where she also served as a member of the first faculty. Elizabeth then taught at and retired from Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, Ariz. Mrs. Clawson held degrees from Kent State University, Airzona State, and had studied further at Columbia University and the University of London.
Her husband of 57 years, Donald C. Clawson, died in 1978. She is survived by one brother, Clyde W. Burton of Marshallville, Ohio; three sisters, Huldah Edwards and Gertrude Milstead of Phoenix, and Ferol Martin of Evansville, Ind. Ferol made her home with the Clawsons for many years, prior to her marriage.
Graveside services were held at Johnson, Ohio, following a memorial service for her at the home in Phoenix . Memorials may be made to the Elizabeth Clawson Fund in care of Phoenix Christian Jr./Sr. High School, 1751 West Indian Rd., Phoenix , Arizona 85015.
