Augustina Jimenez (Pocha) Bernal, 78, of Phoenix, Arizona went home to our Lord on December 29, 2002. She was born on November 28, 1924 in Los Angeles, Calif. and was brought to Arizona as a small child. Her family lived in Morenci, Miami, Globe, and Jerome before coming to Phoenix. 

She met her husband Aurelio in Phoenix and married him in 1941. Her husband, Aurelio, preceded her in death in May 1985. 

Survivors include her sons; Armando, Sr. (Anna), daughters; Ophelia Lopez (Joseph), Stella Gonzales (Daniel), Lydia Guzman (Richard), sister; Virginia Polk, eleven grandchildren, and twenty-three great- grandchildren. 

Visitation, Thursday, January 2, 2003, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 2038 West Van Buren. 

Funeral mass, Friday, January 3, 2003, 9:00 a.m., also being held at St. Matthews Catholic church.
