West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona March 6, 2007 Louis (Pete) Peterson, 87, of Goodyear died March 2, 2007, at Palm Valley Hospice of the Valley in Goodyear. Mr. Peterson was born Jan. 17, 1920, in Herrin, Ill., and moved to Arizona in June 1966. He was a Navy veteran, having received five Bronze Stars and a Victory Bar for his service in World War II. Mr. Peterson was a Mason for more than 50 years, had retired from Unidynamics/Phoenix Inc., and was a deacon at First Southern Baptist Church of Avondale for more than 40 years. Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife of 66 years, Wanda; one daughter, Cheri; two sisters, Lomelda of Herrin and Ida Belle of Tucson; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Southern Baptist Church, 1001 N. Central Ave. in Avondale. The Rev. Jack Marslender will officiate. Crystal Rose Funeral Home in Tolleson made the arrangements
