In Memory of Those Once Loved and Respected
There are a few old timers, veterans of the Civil War, and some of other wars, whose remains rest somewhere around the various burying grounds of Wickenburg, which ought to be remembered by parents, veterans and sons and daughters of veterans.
Bob Groom, notably a pioneer and member of Arizona's first territorial legislature, lies in an alley back of Si Wilkonson's and G.B. Upton's houses, unkempt and uncared for, with a large monument marking his last resting place.
Memorial day will not be fully celebrated without some token of respect befitting these one time loved and respected dead, but for many generations forgotten.
Harry Cowell can tell of several others, among them Jimy Dunn and others whose memories ought to have a sacred significance to those who knew them.
[Bob Groom is now buried in the Wickenburg Cemetery]
