Dr. Todd Anderson, 43, the son of county Supervisor Lyman Anderson of Oregon, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1992, in Phoenix, Ariz., after a long illness.
Dr. Anderson served on the Wisconsin Dane County Board from 1976 to 1980 and was a member of the board's Agriculture and Zoning Committee and cultural affairs and airport commissions.
He also headed the town of Oregon's bicentennial committee from 1974 to 1976, during which he oversaw the purchase of 20 acres of woodland for the Bicentennial Park.
He graduated from Oregon High School and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
He received his medical degree in internal medicine from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Dr. Anderson was commissioned lieutenant commander in the U.S. Health Service Corps and served at hospitals in Madison, San Francisco, Anchorage, and Minneapolis.
In Alaska and Arizona, during his internship at the Maricopa County Medical Center and until 1989, he devoted much of his time to providing health care for American Indians, particularly the Pima and Havasu Indians.
From 1989 until his death, he practiced internal medicine in Phoenix and provided long-term care in nursing homes.
He is survived by his parents, Lyman and Patricia of Oregon; his sister, Lynette, and her children; and many friends.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 19, 1992, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 625 E. Netherwood Rd., Oregon.
