G. M .Conrad Found Dead In Rooming House
G. M. Conrad, 56, a recent arrival in Phoenix from Texas and about whom little information had been attained, was found dead in a chair at his apartment in a rooming house at Sixth Avenue and Van Buren street Sunday mmorning at 10 o'clock.
Conrad had been at the rooming house since last Tuesday and had around $35 on his person when his body was discovered yesterday morning. The manager of the rooming house told Police Chief George O. Brisbois and City Detective Dan Lucey who investigated the sudden death with Coroner Nat McKee, that Conrad was a quiet kind of person and had spoken to very few people while at the rooming house. The last the manager saw of Conrad was Friday morning when he got change for a dollar bill in order to get a quarter to place in the automatic gas meter.
Sunday morning when Conrad did not show up around the rooming house the management became concerned and it was then that Conrad was found dead in his room.
The body is at McLellan's undertaking parlors awaiting word from relatives in Texas as to what disposition may be made of the remains.
