BRUEHL, Derick Wayne

West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona December 28, 2004 Derick Wayne Bruehl, 16, of Goodyear died December 23, 2004, following a motorcycle accident near his home. Derick was born July 20, 1988, in Phoenix. A resident of Buckeye for most of his life, he graduated from Liberty Elementary School and currently was an honor student at Desert Edge High School, where he recently was selected to be on the Student/Principal’s Leadership Council. Derick played center field on the Desert Edge baseball team, and for his skills on the football field, he received Honorable Mention/All Region, Wide Receiver in 2004. Derick also was involved actively in Young Life, a Christian organization, and he was leader in the youth group at Grace Fellowship Church in Buckeye. Derick is survived by his parents, Brenda and Gary Bruehl, and his grandparents, Valcleta Barrett and Katy and Gary Bruehl. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Fellowship Church, 1300 N. Miller Rd. in Buckeye. A service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Memorials can be made to the Derick Bruehl Scholarship and sent to the Agua Fria Union High School District c/o Desert Edge High School, 15778 W. Yuma Road, Goodyear, AZ 85338. Buckeye Funeral Home made the arrangements.
