NESS, Richard Alton

West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona 12/24/2004 Richard Alton Ness, 77, of Goodyear died Dec. 18, 2004. Mr. Ness was born April 10, 1927, in Waterloo, Iowa. A Navy veteran, he had lived in Arizona the past 10 years and would return to Ottertail Lake, Minn., each summer. A retired ophthalmologist, Dr. Ness was active in the Estrella Rotary Club, The Church at Litchfield Park, Circumnavigators Club and Zion Lutheran Church in Battle Lake, Minn. Dr. Ness is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three daughters, Nancy Casebeer of Butte, Mont., Susan Gonzalez of Chelsea, Mich., and Carol Ness of Fargo, N.D.; two sons, Richard Ness II of Lakewood, Wash., and Jonathan Ness of Grand Forks, N.D.; one sister, Yvetta Colton, of Billings, Mont.; and nine grandchildren.
