Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ December 13, 1957, p. 1 Cause Of Goodrow Death Is Thought To Be A Beating Investigators of the sheriff's office believe the cause of the death of George Goodrow, 49year-old Wickenburg resident, was the result of a beating administered in Wickenburg November 11. Goodrow died in the Maricopa County Hospital, Phoenix, Sunday. Goodrow was admitted to Community Hospital here November 11 with evidence of a severe beating. On November 24 he walked out of the hospital without permission and was located later in the day by Policeman Louis Johnson who returned him to the hospital. He was then officially discharged but, because he still appeared to be in a dazed condition, spent the night in the local jail. Next day Police Chief Dick Savage had him admitted to the County Hospital where he remained until his death Sunday. Goodrow was a cook in a local restaurant. Being held in the county jail at Phoenix on suspicion of beating him is a dishwasher in the same restaurant. Lt. Doran of the sheriff's office has been in Wickenburg investigating the alleged beating and the circumstances surrounding it.
