Arthur H. Phelan, 90, of Spring Valley, Ariz., died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at his home in Spring Valley. He was born Aug. 2, 1919, in Denbow, Pa., to Fred Joseph Phelan and Violet Kilgar Davis.

Art served in the U.S. Army and was a WWII veteran. He worked as a miner and retired from U.S. Steel.

Art is survived by his wife Shelva Jean; two daughters, Susan (Tim) Turko and Debra (Rich) Langyet; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Visitation and Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, with Mass to follow at Saint Joseph Catholic Mission Church, 10901 S. Highway 69, Mayer, Ariz.
