VON MARTIN, Marty

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 5, 2003 Marty Von Martin, passed away Feb 2nd 2003. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Oct. 18, 1954. He later moved to Colorado where he married his high school sweetheart Diane they had one child Shawn Marty. Later joined the military and moved his family to Fort Hood, Texas where he served his country as a helicopter mechanic. After his service in military he moved his family back to Colorado where he continued his education in electronics. He become an accomplished musician and was in several outstanding bands. In 1987 Marty and the family moved to Arizona where they started family friends and extended family. Marty's friendly smile and contagious laughter made everyone feel welcome. Marty is survived by his wife of 31 years Diane, son Shawn, father Bob, mother Vonda, brothers; Rob, Randy, Elmer Jr., Sisters; Gail, Kathy numerous nephews & nieces. Marty was 2nd father to a large extended family too numerous to mention. Marty was much loved he will be missed and in our hearts forever. Services will be held on Thurs Feb 6, 2003, 10am at Mortensen Kings Mortuary 2225 N. 16th St. (Obit: Courtesy of Pat Wilson)
