HEFNER, Ross Ward

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ July 9, 2003, p. B10 Ross Ward Hefner of Wickenburg, age 81, died on June 27, 2003 in Vernal, Utah. Ross was born on June 9, 1922 to Olin and Nora Taylor Hefner in Byers, Texas. He married Arlene Krein on Oct. 17, 1960 in Las Vegas, Nev. Ross was an R.C.A. cowboy, bullfighter, roper, and bull-dogger. He served in World War II with the U.S. Coast Guard. Ross enjoyed hunting, prospecting, and most of all fishing. Ross is survived by his wife, Arlene Hefner of Wickenburg; children Layne and Marsha of Virginia, Jay, Katherine and Troy of Wickenburg; eight grand children and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Dennis and granddaughter Mary Catherine. Services were held on July 2 in Vernal, Utah.
