The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ December 10, 2003, p.B10 Marion E. Mawhir, 78, of Wickenburg, passed away Nov. 28. Marion was born June 6, 1925 in Port Townsend, Wash. She had been employed at Chautauqua County Vacationlands in Mayville, N.Y. She was a member of Mayville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donald H. Mawhir whom she married on Nov. 11, 1945; daughters Barbara McHugh, Hanson, Mass., Judy Plante, Whitman, Mass. and Diane Lines, Mayville, N.Y.; sons Donald H. Mawhir II, and James Mawhir of Mayville, N.Y.; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister Neil Teitzel. Marion was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Mabelle Aubert Ammeter and her brother Robert "Bud" Ammeter. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday in the Freay Funeral Home, Mayville, N.Y. Reverend Alan Jones of the Mayville United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in the Mayville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to March of Dimes, 385 N. French Road, Buffalo, N.Y. 14228.
