Alice Elizabeth Pass McHugh died in Tucson on Feb 8, 2003, after a short illness. Mrs. McHugh was born in Mankato, MN on July 2, 1917, to Mattie K. Nelson and George Pass, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Wilbur and Richard, and husband, Edward M. McHugh. Survivors are daughters Diana Jaquette (Gary Hardy) of Mesa, Elaine Quiroz (Richard) of Tucson, and Colleen Gracey (Chuck) of Denver, as well as grandchildren Marie Quiroz Roth and Trisha Quiroz Boyle of Tucson, Jim Jaquette of Mesa, Cindy Jaquette Meullenet of Arkansas, Matthew and Michael Gracey of Colorado, plus nine great-grandchildren. Many other relatives and dear friends also mourn her passing.
Mrs. McHugh graduated from Mankato H.S. and magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota. She married in 1940 and lived in several states before settling in Arizona in 1959. Mrs. McHugh contributed her time and effort to many causes and organizations in each place she lived. She was a woman of strength, integrity, intelligence, kindness, and grace.
A memorial service for Mrs. McHugh will be held at her church, Rincon Congregational, in Tucson, on Wednesday, February 12, 2003, at 10:00 a.m.
