HANCOCK, James (Jim)

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Monday, January 13, 2003 James, (Jim) Hancock, 74, of Peoria, Arizona, passed away Thursday January 9, 2003. Jim was born June 16, 1928 in Kokomo, Indiana. He married Jody McLeland on June 26th, 1949 in Phoenix and spent 50 years raising a family and working in Arizona. Jim was the ultimate optimist who showed by example, an amazing spirit for living. He had atremendous way of making everyone around him feel special. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jody, and children, Paul (Debbie), Jayne, granddaughter Christine, sister Sherry (Bob) Tidler and his mother Olyne Hancock. He was preceeded in death by his parents, William and Julia Hancock and one son, Tom. A memorial celebration will be held, 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 14th, 2003 at Willowbrook Methodist Church, 19390 North 99th Avenue, Sun City, Arizona.
