Sylven "Sid" Kvale passed away on December 13, 2009 at the Bob Stump VAMC Hospice Unit in Prescott, Ariz. He was born March 2, 1923 in Joice, Iowa; the son of Oliver & Esther Kvale. He was 86 years old. Sid was married to the love of his life Betty. Together they shared many years of love and memories.
Sid served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corp and was a WWII Veteran who was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He worked for 25 years as a salesman in the chemical field for Pennwalt Corporation. Sid was the manager of a creamery in Houston, Minn. and as a salesman at Vista Del Lago, each for 10 years. He was a member of Prescott Elks Lodge # 330 and the VFW for 39 years. Sid belonged and attended the American Lutheran Church in Prescott.
He is survived by wife Betty of Prescott, AZ; daughter-Pamela & son-in-law Jeff of Ogden, UT; grandchildren- Brian & Katy Paulson and Heather & Erik Kvale; brother- Basil Kvale of Minneapolis, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Oliver & Esther; brother- Orvis Kvale; and his son Craig Kvale.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at the American Lutheran Church in Prescott, with visitation prior at 12:30 p.m. with Military Honors by the American Legion Post #6. Final resting place will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Sid's name to the VAMC Hospice of Prescott, 500 N. Highway 89, Prescott, AZ 86313.
