GARCIA, Emelina F.

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Tuesday, January 14, 2003 Emelina F. Garcia, 99 years old, born September 23, 1903, passed away Friday, January 10, 2003. She was preceded in death by her sons, Alfred (Freddie) Garcia, Rudy Garcia and her husband, Manuel Garcia. She is survived by her son Manuel F. Garcia, and daughter Betty Huguez, 25 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, 67 great-great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great-grandson. Mrs. Garcia was the last survivor of Arizona Pioneer First Family that came to the valley in the early 1890's. She was employed for 36 years by the American Linen Supply, active in church life at St. Mary's and Our Lady of Fatima Church. She was a cursillista, having attend the second cursillo. She was nana to the world around her and shared her faith with everyone. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at Our Lady of Fatima, 5-6 p.m. followed by a 6:00 Rosary and at 7:00 p.m. Interment to take place on Wednesday, January 15, 2003, 10 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
