Clarence Moore - Funeral services for Clarence Moore, 91, of Lawton, Oklahoma were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 12, 2003, at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Coast, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Moore died Thursday, January 9, 2003 at a local hospital.
Visitation on Tuesday, January 14th, 5-8pm at Buckeye Funeral Home.
Burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2003, at Louise B. Hazelton Cemetery, Buckeye, Az. under the direction of Buckeye Funeral.
Clarence Moore was born Octrober 13, 1911, at Lenna, Macintosh County, Oklahoma to Thomas Jefferson Moore and Harriet Matilda Raper Moore.
He grew up near Stringtown, in Atoka County and worked on the Jim Bridges Ranch. He married Mabel Shaw on May 21, 1932 in Atoka, Ok.
During WW II, he worked in the ship yards in California.
In 1947 he moved his family to Phoenix, Arizona where he worked on a ranch in Rainbow Valley, near Buckeye, Arizona, where he later owned and operated a country store.
Mr. Moore retired in 1975 and moved to Lawton in June of 1999 to be near his caregivers, Dennis and Erika Moore and granddaughter Hanna Fuentes.
He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Dennis Moore and his wife Erika, of Lawton; one brother, Otis Moore of Colgate, Ok., sixteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and seven great- great- grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one son, James Moore, and three daughters, Loretta Tubbs, Dorothy Kutter and Jerry Brock.
