BOWDEN, R. Bruce


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 12, 2003 R. Bruce Bowden, 81, of Scottsdale, passed away Feb. 7, 2003. He was born in Chicago, Ill. Feb. 28, 1921. He was a graduate of Purdue University and a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He was in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II, a former member of the Boy Scouts, former President of Materials Handling Equipment Company, former member of Medinah Country Club, Medinah, Ill., and a friend of the Valley Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Frances J. Bowden; daughter, Kathleen Troost (William); son, James (Sherry); brother, Donald; 5 grandchildren, David, Daniel, and Steven Troost and Duncan and Addison Bowden; 2 great-granddaughters, Amanda and Taylor Troost, (preceded in death by a son, David). A celebration of his life will be Sat., Feb. 15, 2003, 2:00pm at Valley Presbyterian Chapel, 6947 E. McDonald Dr., Scottsdale, AZ 85253.
