RUST, Tony Lee


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 12, 2003 Tony Lee Rust, 58, went to heaven from his home in Sun City, Arizona, on Sunday, February 9, 2003, after battling cancer for several months. Born in Smith County, Kansas, he grew up in Naponee, Nebraska. He graduated from Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma City with a B.S. in Business Administration. He married Marilyn Bennett in 1969 and spent most of his life as a carpenter in Oregon, Idaho, and Arizona. Tony accepted Christ at an early age and enjoyed faithfully serving the Lord with his firm handshake and genuine smile at the church door. He always endeavored to live a holy life in the marketplace. Tony derived his greatest pleasure from his loving family, his many friends, his rewarding labors, and his extensive travels. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Rust of Sun City; son Daniel Rust, daughter-in-law Lisa Rust, and grandson Evan Rust of Surprise, Arizona; his mother Blanch Rust of Topeka, Kansas; brothers Cliff Rust of Topeka, Kansas, and Ted Rust of Poteau, Oklahoma; and many other relatives who will miss him. He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Rust. Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at Sun City Church of the Nazarene.
