Herman E. Sanders, 61, of Phoenix, Arizona, died on February 4, 2003, after a lengthy battle against Parkinson's disease. Herman spent the majority of his lIfe driving a truck, as an Owner-Operator, logging over 21/2 million miles across the country. He truly enjoyed the peace and serenity of life on the road.
He was born in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Edward and Anne Sanders, and was raised in Perth Amboy, NJ. He lived in both Illinois and Florida before retiring in Arizona.
Herman is survived by his wife, Helen, also of Phoenix AZ, sister Bernadette of Phoenix, AZ, sister Theresa of No. Plainfield, NJ, sister Geraldine of Seaville, NJ, and sister Patricia of Seaville, NJ.
He was preceded In death by sister Eleanor. Survivors also include son Mark of Chicago, IL, daughter Lynn of Hermosa Beach, CA, daughter Susan of St. Charles, IL, daughter Cindy of Evergreen, CO, and son Kenny of Waco, TX. Herman had 10 grandchildren: Brittney Leigh, Karina Sophia, Brenton John, Emily Josephine, Erin Elizabeth, Amy Lea, Alexander Paul, Samantha Rose, Isabela Rose and Sophia Lynn. All of which he dearly loved. Herman was known to many, and wilI be greatly missed by all.
A Catholic memorial mass will be at a later date.
A private burial, attended only by his family, will be held mountainside in Northern, AZ later in the Spring. Contributions can be made to Children's Miracle Network and to Arizona Center for the Blind.
