Mary Katherine Mead, 94, formerly of Springerville died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, in Vernon at Bannon Springs. She was born Sept. 14, 1915, in the back of a horse drawn buggy in Ferry Michigan to Harry O. Weaver and Nora Croff. 

Mary was a wonderful homemaker all of her life. She loved to travel and was an excellent cook. Mary married Marion Mead and together they had four children. 

She is survived by her son Gary (Peggy) Mead of Springerville, daughter Mary (Don) Daniel of Rio Rancho, N.M., 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Marion Mead, son Hugh Mead and daughter Nora Jean Mead.
